Nominations for the first set of inductees to the Michigan Walk of Fame have closed. Nominations were received from every county in Michigan and 15 states. Not counting duplicate nominations, over 450 individuals were nominated to the Michigan Walk of Fame. The judging/selection process begins immediately - Michigan Walk of Fame organizers must review all nominees to ensure they meet the basic criteria of Michigan residency, either presently or in the past. The judges will select 12 inductees from the 450 nominations. The selected individuals will be formally inducted into the Michigan Walk of Fame on May 25, 2006 during Michigan Week.
